1 size skate = 4 shoe sizes. How does this scalable system work? The 3 stage adjustment: 1) Open lever. 2) Pull on the front of the boot. 3) Close the lever. Using this system, your child will be able to use these inline skates for more than one season. To keep your child comfy, choose skates that are suitable for their feet: avoid skates that are too heavy (not suited to their strength) or too big (their feet will slip inside the boot leading to poor posture & difficulty in controlling their movements).
How do the skates let your child skate and brake easily? The lighter composite plate makes it easy to learn. It provides a comfy glide. The 70 mm 80A wheels and ABEC 3 bearings offer a good compromise between glide and handling. Our skates are kitted out with a classic rubber brake that you can fit on either the right or the left foot.
Rubber wheels and brakes. Unlike plastic, which skids but doesn't brake, rubber provides good traction. This stops your child from slipping when they push off, as well as helping them brake effectively. What's more, rubber also wears out less quickly than plastic.
What wheels are on the FIT 3 skates? The FIT3 skates are equipped with 70mm wheels.
Inline skates in sizes 13½-2½ and 2½-5½ can be equipped with 76 mm wheels, even light-up ones, which are available online or in store.
Like in all gliding sports, falling is just part of learning (even for experienced skaters). For maximum protection, we recommend wearing knee pads, wrist guards and a helmet at the absolute minimum. Elbow pads as well as padded shorts can also be helpful. Because you never know which bit of your body you're going to land on.
